Who doesn’t love an outdoor barbeque? It’s a wonderful way to take your backyard to the next level – in a unique way where artisanal meets “bling” (if you will), but at a price that is surprisingly within reach. But be careful! Those of our customers who have had an outdoor stone BBQ installed say they could never go back to standard BBQ fare.

We provide custom stone barbecue design from conception to completion including installation, restoration & maintenance services. We build:

  • Natural stone barbecues
  • Brick barbecues
  • Any other outdoor BBQs & ovens

Things to Consider

An outdoor BBQ provides the perfect focal and gathering point for entertaining and hosting guests – the sounds and smells seem to tap into something that all people enjoy (and not just the guys). Plus, on chilly evenings your BBQ will act as a natural patio heater with its embers providing a magical and soothing source of light. With that said, there are some things to know and consider before building an outdoor brick or stone BBQ.

1.
Think about how many people you want to cook for on a regular basis and for those special occasions. This will help you gauge the size of BBQ you require during construction.

2.
Does your patio or outdoor space have the room to accommodate a BBQ? What is the ideal placement? Consider you will want easy access to the home and to serving your guests.

3.
Place your BBQ best where smoke won’t irritate your guests or neighbours and is sheltered from strong winds and, if possible, rain.

4.
Do you want many of the modern conveniences of a kitchen as well? Consider the additions of storage, running water, utensil holders and trash compartments.

Mortar or no Mortar?

A stone BBQ is very durable and efficient but with mortar it becomes even more so. However, you will need to decide whether you want your BBQ to be a permanent fixture or if you want to take it with you to your next home.

Without mortar, your structure may not be quite as durable, but it will be more portable. Keep in mind that if you anticipate downsizing later to a smaller home or condominium, you may not have the space (or permission) to take it with you. Just something to consider, which we can help you with during planning.

Stone or Brick Ovens?

You don’t need to be a dyed-in-the-wool foodie to appreciate an outdoor wood-fired brick or stone oven. It extends the living space, and allows greater versatility in the food you cook for your guests. In addition to all the foods you can prepare on an outdoor grill like burgers and steaks, you can also bake pizzas and flatbreads, slow cook ribs, as well as roast chicken, turkey, beef or lamb without running up your energy bill.
